What to Expect During Your First Infrared Body Rolling Session
New to body rolling? You’re in the right place. Whether you've heard about it from a friend, seen it trending on TikTok, or stumbled upon it while searching for a way to feel less bloated and more sculpted—here’s the lowdown on what to expect from your very first session.
At our wellness studio in Takapuna, we use advanced infrared body roller machines to support lymphatic drainage, body sculpting, recovery, and relaxation. And the best part? You don’t need any experience to get started.
What Is Body Rolling?
Body rolling is a treatment that uses a wooden roller machine to gently massage your body in a specific sequence. It’s designed to stimulate your lymphatic system, improve circulation, reduce fluid retention, and help sculpt and tone the body naturally.
Our machines also include infrared heat and collagen light therapy to amplify results.
It’s kind of like a deep massage + workout + glow-up in one.
Your First Session: Step by Step
1. You’ll Be Greeted + Guided
On your first visit, we’ll walk you through how the body roller works, how to position yourself for each area, and how to adjust the speed and intensity.
Don’t worry—it’s super easy and we’ll make sure you’re confident before we leave you to relax.
2. You’ll Move Through a Guided RoutineThe machine rotates in a set sequence, and you’ll move your body into different positions to target your:
Legs
Thighs
Glutes
Stomach
Arms
Back
Each zone gets a few minutes of focused rolling to stimulate the lymphatic system and encourage detox.
3. You’ll Start to Feel...
A warm, deep massage-like sensation
Gentle pressure (you control the intensity)
A bit of sweating if the infrared heat kicks in (this is good!)
Some areas might feel a little tender at first, especially if you’re holding onto tension or fluid—but most clients say it feels strangely addictive after a few minutes.
4. You’ll Finish Feeling Lighter + Energised
Most people leave their first session feeling:
Lighter
Less bloated
Super relaxed
Surprisingly energised
It’s normal to feel a bit flushed or thirsty afterward, so drink plenty of water and take it easy for the rest of the day.
What to Wear
Wear activewear or something stretchy and comfortable. Leggings, bike shorts, crop tops, and fitted tanks are ideal. No jeans, skirts, or anything bulky.
We recommend bringing a water bottle and avoiding heavy meals right before your session.
How Long Is the Session?
Our First-Time Roller Intro Session is 45 minutes. This includes a quick 10-minute walkthrough followed by your full body rolling experience.
After your first visit, your sessions are fully self-service—you’ll be able to come in, roll out, and leave feeling amazing.
